TOMORROW'S Outside Speaker is Harvard Medical School’s Dr. Lisa Wong who will discuss “Music as Medicine,” her experience with music in the developing brain and using music for healing. A pediatrician, musician, and author, Dr. Wong has dedicated her life to the healing arts of music and medicine. A violinist, violist and pianist, she works at Milton Pediatric Associates and is an Assistant Clinical Professor at HMS.

As Past-President of the Longwood Symphony Orchestra and Co-Director of the Arts & Humanities Initiative at HMS, Dr. Wong has performed with many colleagues who share her passion for the arts and sciences. In 2012, she published her first book, Scales to Scalpels: Doctors who practice the healing arts of Music and Medicine, in collaboration with writer Robert Viagas.
