Upcoming Marathon Detours
Saturday, April 19th
The Boston Athletic Association will hold a 5K race on Saturday, April 19th that will result in several streets around Kenmore Square being shut down. As a result, the M2 Saturday will take the following detour:
After leaving Vanderbilt Hall, it will take a left onto Longwood Avenue and then a left onto Huntington Avenue and a left onto Massachusetts Avenue before continuing on its normal route. Buses coming from Cambridge will proceed down Massachusetts Avenue, take a right turn onto Huntington Avenue, a right turn onto Louis Prang Street and then a left onto Avenue Louis Pasteur. The M2 will not service 333 Longwood Ave., any stops on Brookline Avenue or Kenmore Square.
This detour will be in effect for all morning service on Saturday, April 10th. Normal service should resume at approximately noon.
Monday, April 21st
The Boston Athletic Association will hold its annual marathon on Monday, April 21st. There is also a Red Sox game scheduled for Fenway Park at 11:10 a.m. This will disrupt normal service in several ways:
1. LMA Shuttles will operate normal service until approximately 8:00 a.m.. At that point the following detours will go into effect.
The Fenway shuttle will only go as far as Park Drive. It will pick up and drop off on the corner of Park Drive and Brookline Avenue. It will not service Lansdowne Station, 20 Overland St., Lansdowne Garage, Ipswich Garage, 1295 Boylston St., or the Fenway Garage.
2. The M2 will be detoured. After leaving Vanderbilt Hall, it will take a left onto Longwood and then a left onto Huntington Avenue and a left onto Massachusetts Avenue before continuing on its normal route. Buses coming from Cambridge will proceed down Massachusetts Avenue, take a right turn onto Huntington Avenue, a right turn onto Louis Prang Street and then a left onto Avenue Louis Pasteur. The M2 will not service 333 Longwood Ave., any stops on Brookline Avenue or Kenmore Square.
3. The 5:15 p.m. and 6:25 p.m. M2 via Coolidge Corner departures will only go as far as the corner of Harvard Avenue and Beacon Street.
Normal service for both routes should resume at approximately 6:00 p.m..
